I pay my residence tax and/or property tax by monthly direct debit but I can’t pay this month’s instalment. Am I entitled to a payment extension?

Payment extensions for monthly instalments are not possible.

If a direct debit is unable to be made on the deadline set due to insufficient funds in the account, the amount due will be added to the next direct debit. If there is a second late payment during the same year, you will lose entitlement to monthly direct debits for that year and you will have to settle the balance on the payment due date.

If you consider that the amount of your overall taxes will be lower, you can reduce the amount of your monthly instalments. You can obtain further information on the management of your direct debits on this website in the “An Individual” section >  I manage and pay my taxes > Online personal accounts for non-residents.

When you receive your tax notice, whether you are still paying monthly instalments or not, you can request a payment extension in the conditions set out on this website.

If payment extensions are granted, your tax office will take the necessary steps for management of your direct debit contract.
