How do I apply for a payment extension?

You can submit an application for a payment extension:

  • From your personal account on this website. Log on to your personal account and go to your “Messagerie sécurisée”. Select “Ecrire” > “J'ai un problème concernant le paiement de mon impôt” > “J'ai des difficultés pour payer” then follow the instructions in the form.

  • or at your tax office. You can find its contact details on this website in the “Contact” section > “Particulier” > “Votre dossier fiscal (domicile en France)” > “Le paiement de vos impôts” > “Vous avez des difficultés pour payer” or on your tax notice.

In the latter case, your application should be accompanied by:

  • the “payment difficulties questionnaire - form 4805-AP-SD”, which is available on this website, duly completed

  • your tax notice

  • a bank account identification document (RIB)

  • documents justifying the difficulties and the circumstances mentioned (pay slips, rent receipts, utilities/expenditure invoices, etc.)
